How the Rebar Calculator Works

This calculator helps you estimate total rebar length and weight for construction projects. It supports common bar sizes (#3–#8) and converts total material into feet, meters, pounds, and kilograms.

Formulas Used

The calculator uses standard rebar weight formulas:

• Total Length (ft): Quantity × Length per Bar
• Total Length (m): Total Length (ft) × 0.3048
• Weight per Foot: Based on bar size (#3–#8)
• Total Weight (lbs): Weight per Foot × Total Length (ft)
• Total Weight (kg): Pounds × 0.453592

Example

Example for 20 pieces of #4 rebar, each 10 ft long:

Total Length = 20 × 10 = 200 ft
Weight per Foot (#4) = 0.668 lbs/ft
Total Weight = 200 × 0.668 = 133.6 lbs
In Kilograms = 133.6 × 0.453592 = 60.58 kg
